California State Government Funding Cuts

The City Librarian will provide information on the impact of proposed state governments cuts in support for valuable programs introduced at the library in recent years. Support for programs such as the California State Parks Pass Program, which provides free passes for checkout to library patrons, is scheduled to be excluded from the next state budget in an effort to address deficit. Financial support for public library programs represents a tiny fraction of the state budget. City Librarian James Moore will inform the Library Board and consider potential service impacts as well as weigh potential library and community responses to the impending cuts.

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
