Women’s History Month

CONSENT CALENDAR
All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion without discussion. If discussion is desired, that item may be removed and considered separately.
 
2.

City Council Meeting Minutes - Approval

Approve the minutes of the City Council Special and Regular meeting of February 22, 2022. 

3.

Remote Teleconferenced City Council and Commission Meetings – Reauthorization

Adopt a Resolution to reauthorize remote teleconferenced City Council and Board and Commission meetings for 30 days, through April 6, 2022, as allowed by Assembly Bill 361 amending the Brown Act, based upon the Governor’s emergency proclamation and findings that meeting in person would present imminent risks to the health or safety of attendees.

Generator Purchase – Contract

Adopt a Resolution to approve an alternative purchasing method to award a contract to Multiquip for the purchase of two (2) MQPower Whisperwatt Emergency Generators in the amount of $154,617.49 and authorize the Public Works Director to execute the contract in substantially the form presented.

5.

Objective Design Standards for Multi-Family Dwellings – Amendment

Approve Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with MIG, Inc. for the preparation of Objective Design & Development Standards for Multi-Family Dwellings for an increase of $132,680 (new agreement total of $193,332) and authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment.

6.

San Mateo County Vehicle Theft Task Force – Memorandum of Understanding

Approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of San Mateo and the San Mateo County Vehicle Theft Task Force and authorize the Chief of Police to execute the agreement in substantially the form presented.

7.

Classification Updates – Police Department

Adopt a Resolution to approve the: 1) reallocation of the Community Engagement and Public Relations Coordinator position to a Communications and Public Relations Analyst; 2) reclassification of the incumbent to Communications and Public Relations Analyst; and 3) revisions to the job specifications for the classifications of Communications and Public Relations Analyst and Police Records and Communications Manager.

8.

Classification and Position Updates - Police Department

Adopt a Resolution to reallocate one vacant Administrative Assistant position to one Management Analyst I/II position; and authorize one additional Management Analyst I/II position for the Police Department.

PUBLIC HEARING
City Council action on the following public hearing(s) represents a final decision concluding all administrative proceedings. Judicial review may be had only if a petition is filed with the Court not later than the 90th day following the date the decision is made. Judicial review of environmental determinations may be subject to a time period for litigation as short as 30 days following the date the decision is made.

Ordinance Introduction – Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance Amendments

Introduce an Ordinance to amend San Mateo Municipal Code Chapter 27.19 – “Accessory Dwelling Unit and Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit – Residential Zones” in accordance with changes to State law and to amend San Mateo Municipal Code Section 27.04.165 by adding a definition for “Junior accessory dwelling unit.”

CLOSED SESSION
The public will have an opportunity to comment before the Council’s consideration of this item. Following the meeting a report of action from Closed Session will be provided if required.

Adopt a Resolution to authorize action regarding City Manager compensation.

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
City Manager, City Attorney and Council Members report on their various assignments and liaison roles and Council requests for scheduling future items.
